About the Uttaro Field Center
The Uttaro Field Center is a dynamic space designed to support community-driven development in Bodo. It’s a resource hub where RIDE International and local partners come together to foster education, sustainability, and cultural preservation.
What We Do Here
Educational Workshops: Hosts training sessions on sustainable farming, small business management, and environmental stewardship.
Community Gatherings: Provides a meeting space for local elders, farmers, and community leaders.
Youth Programs: Supports youth engagement through leadership, educational scholarships, and mentorship initiatives.
Female-Led Business Support: Empowers local women’s groups with resources to launch and sustain small businesses.
Cultural Preservation: Celebrates and revitalizes traditional knowledge and practices through collaborative events.
The Uttaro Field Center’s construction is well underway, with exciting developments coming soon as we diligintly work towards a hopeful completion by Spring 2025. Our vision is taking shape as we finish construction on multiple buildings designed to serve our community and foster sustainable growth. Here’s where we are so far:

Main Center Building: Structural framework completed, housing classrooms, meeting rooms, and community spaces.
Resource & Training Wing: Foundation laid for workshops and training rooms dedicated to skills development and sustainable practices.
Outdoor Gathering Areas: Landscaping underway for open-air meeting spaces and community events.
Youth & Education Pavilion: Construction on track for this dedicated youth engagement space, designed to support our scholar and mentorship programs.

His role as a co-founder of RIDE International reflects his vision of empowering communities through sustainable, locally-driven initiatives. With decades of experience, Dr. Uttaro helped establish foundational programs that combine immersive student education with support for community-led projects, always prioritizing collaboration and mutual respect.
Under his guidance, RIDE has developed incredible programs that have empowered dozens of East African communities. These programs have helped address critical issues like environmental conservation and economic resilience. His legacy continues to shape the organization's mission, fostering learning experiences that are deeply respectful of local knowledge and aspirations, making him a fitting namesake for RIDE's newest field center.
