Watha Cultural Revival Projects

  • Develop cultural programs

This project aims to develop engaging and informative cultural programs that promote and celebrate the unique heritage, traditions, and customs of the Watha community. These programs will include traditional storytelling, dance, music, and art, providing a platform for intergenerational knowledge transfer and fostering a sense of identity.

  • Construct Watha community centre

The construction of a dedicated community center in Maungu will serve as a hub for cultural activities and events. This center will provide a space for workshops, exhibitions, and educational sessions, offering opportunities for Watha community members to come together and share their heritage and culture.

  • Establish Watha-led tourism

Our goal is to empower the Watha community economically through sustainable and responsible tourism initiatives led by the community members themselves. By showcasing their cultural heritage of Tsavo East & West National Parks, the Watha people will offer tourists a unique and authentic experience.
